Viewing older films coded in older versions of video codecs, I realize how much more pleasing to the eye the current versions are.
With the current xvid 1.x versions, a video of resolution 720x576px and bitrate 1248kbps would look really nice; with divx5.03 of like six years ago it is very blocky during movemen
t and in dark areas.
btw it is not about "old movies", I am focusing on old codec versions and their shortcomings when compared to what we have today.
